Imagine and Open Eir agree strategic Multi‑million‑euro network partnership to deliver nationwide Fibre and 5G broadband  

Imagine, Ireland’s independent broadband provider, has agreed a new multi‑million‑euro strategic network partnership with open eir, Ireland’s largest wholesale telecommunications provider, strengthening Imagine’s ability to deliver future proofed fibre and 5G services to homes and businesses across the country. 

Under the three‑year agreement, open eir will provide Imagine with extensive access to its national fibre network, mobile network and more than 170 Points of Presence (PoPs) nationwide. The partnership enhances Imagine’s capacity to scale its fibre broadband services, including those delivered over both the National Broadband Plan footprint and open eir’s expanding fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, which is now available to more than 1.4 million homes and businesses. 

The partnership also includes collaboration on mobile broadband, with a pilot currently live delivering more than 4,000 5G home broadband devices using the eir mobile network with 5G service reach to over 99% of the population, supporting high‑capacity home connectivity in areas where fibre is not yet available. 

A key focus of the agreement is the partnership approach taken by open eir, working closely with Imagine identifying operational requirements and tailor services to meet those needs. This includes deep integration across network operations, systems, and processes to ensure robust service delivery and an improved customer experience.

In late 2025, Imagine announced a price freeze until the end of 2030 on all fibre broadband plans, guaranteeing customers that their monthly bill will not increase during that time. Imagine also offers leave anytime flexibility across all broadband packages, giving customers stability without long-term lock-ins.
